Cissi Klein became famous in her hometown of Trondheim in the mid-1990s, when the city decided to appoint one of its 72 residents who were deported as a symbol for the persecution during the war. In 1995, the street where she lived was named Cissi Kleins gate, and a statue of her made by Tore Bjørn Skjølsvik and Tone Ek was unveiled in the park nearby in 1997.{{Cite web|title=Art - Cissi Klein|url=https://www.trondheim.com/art-cissi-klein|website=Trondheim.com|language=en|access-date=22 May 2020|archive-date=3 July 2020|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20200703161314/https://www.trondheim.com/art-cissi-klein|url-status=dead}} In memory of the day she was removed from her school by police, pupils from the Kalvskinnet Primary School visit the park on 6 October every year to lay flowers.{{Cite web|title=Cissi Klein (1929-1943)|url=https://trondheim.com/cissi-klein-1929-1943|last=Rædergård|first=Einar|website=Trondheim.com|language=en|access-date=22 May 2020}}{{Dead link|date=December 2023 |bot=InternetArchiveBot |fix-attempted=yes }} The composer Ståle Kleiberg has written a musical piece in her memory.{{cite web |url=http://www.arkivmusic.com/classical/Namedrill?&name_id=6379&name_role=1 |title= Arkivmusic.com profile of Ståle Kleiberg|access-date=2008-01-20 |publisher= Arkivmusic |language= no |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20110608171432/http://www.arkivmusic.com/classical/Namedrill?%26name_id%3D6379%26name_role%3D1|archive-date=2011-06-08|url-status=dead }}
