Clitarchus is a genus of stick insects in the Phasmatidae family and Phasmatinae sub-family.{{cite web|title=Clitarchus Stål|url=http://www.landcareresearch.co.nz/research/biosystematics/invertebrates/phasmatodea/clitarchus.asp|publisher=Landcare Research|accessdate=2012-03-28}} This genus is the most common stick insect in New Zealand.
