Clovis West High School has a very successful percussion program in [https://sjvcgpr.compsuite.io/ San Joaquin Valley Color Guard and Percussion Review (SJVCGPR)] and Winter Guard International. Clovis West debuted its marching percussion program in the first-ever WGI Percussion competition in 1992.{{Cite web |title=History |url=https://www.wgi.org/history/ |access-date=2023-04-22 |website=WGI |language=en-US}} Since then, Clovis West has focused on competing in its local circuit, winning several championships. In recent years, the program has expanded its reach and has participated in WGI competitions, where they have also achieved great success.

In the 2022 SJVCGPR season, Clovis West High School's percussion program received first place in every competition they participated in. This continued the program's tradition of excellence and cemented their status as one of the top percussion programs in the region. Clovis West High School harbors a strong sense of competitiveness with other schools within its district: Clovis North High School, Clovis East High School, Clovis High School, and Buchanan High School.
