Cocconerion is a genus of plants under the family Euphorbiaceae first described as a genus in 1873.[https://www.biodiversitylibrary.org/page/6467024#page/90/mode/1up Baillon, Henri Ernest. 1873. 11: 87-90] descriptions in Latin, extensive commentary in French[http://www.tropicos.org/Name/40010994 Tropicos, Cocconerion Baill.] The entire genus is endemic to New Caledonia[http://apps.kew.org/wcsp/namedetail.do?name_id=44364 Kew World Checklist of Selected Plant Families] and is related to Baloghia.Tokuoka, T.
