Coleanor, also known as Coal-Eleanor, is an unincorporated community in Bibb County, Alabama, United States.
History
The mine at Coleanor was originally known as the Upper Thompson Mine.{{cite book |last=Armes |first=Ethel |date=1972 |title=The Story of Coal and Iron in Alabama |location=Birmingham |publisher=The Book-Keepers Press |pages=151 }} The Blocton-Cahaba Coal Company operated a coal mine at Coleanor.{{cite book|author=Geological Survey of Alabama|title=Bulletin - Geological Survey of Alabama|url=https://books.google.com/books?id=dfJ4k2__jDgC&pg=PA48|year=1924|publisher=Geological Survey of Alabama|pages=48}} Combined with nearby Piper, the two towns had a combined population of nearly 2,500.{{cite web |title=Piper/Coleanor |url=https://www.hmdb.org/m.asp?m=83225 |website=The Historical Marker Database |publisher=HMDB.org |access-date=10 March 2020}} Coleanor was connected by rail to Piper and was located on the Southern Railway.{{cite book|author=Rhoda C.
