Colgate is a hamlet in the Rural Municipality of Lomond No. 37, Saskatchewan, Canada. The community had a population of 34 in 2017. It previously held the status of village until May 16, 2000. The hamlet is located {{convert|34|km}} south of the city of Weyburn and {{convert|4|km}} west of Highway 35.

Demographics

Colgate IBA

The community of Colgate sits at the north-east corner of the Colgate (SK 013) Important Bird Area (IBA) of Canada.{{cite web |title=Important Bird and Biodiversity Areas |url=https://www.naturesask.ca/what-we-do/important-bird-areas |website=Nature Saskatchewan |publisher=Nature Saskatchewan |access-date=13 December 2022}} It is a protected area for birds totalling {{cvt|116.42|km2}}. The site consists of native grasslands, Neptune Lake,{{cite web |title=Neptune Lake |url=https://toponymes.rncan.gc.ca/search-place-names/unique/HAMDA|website=Canadian Geographical Names Database |publisher=Government of Canada |access-date=13 December 2022}} and rivers in the Souris River watershed, such as Jewel Creek and Long Creek. Birds important to the area include the ferruginous hawk and burrowing owl.
