Color-code (stylized as color-code) is an all-female Japanese pop group formed by Italian-Japanese fashion director and editor, Nicola Formichetti.

History

In 2013, Nicola Formichetti, a frequent collaborator with singer-songwriter Lady Gaga,[https://www.wsj.com/articles/SB10001424052748703559604576174822344379878 Lord Gaga: The Man Behind the Meat Dress] teamed up with Nippon Columbia to hold the POP ICON PROJECT TOKYO. Auditions "to discover a Japanese version of Lady Gaga"{{Cite web |url=https://color-code.jp/biography |title=color-code Profile |access-date=2015-04-23 |archive-date=2015-05-02 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20150502073955/http://color-code.jp/biography |url-status=dead }} were held and three members were selected, Tsujikawa Nanami and Moriyasu Mako, both from Osaka, and Yasukawa Marisa from Chiba.
