Comamonas is a genus of bacteria in the phylum Pseudomonadota.Garrity, George M.; Brenner, Don J.; Krieg, Noel R.; Staley, James T. (eds.) (2005). Bergey's Manual of Systematic Bacteriology, Volume Two: The Proteobacteria, Part C: The Alpha-, Beta-, Delta-, and Epsilonproteobacteria. New York, New York: Springer. {{ISBN|978-0-387-24145-6}}. Like all Pseudomonadota, they are Gram-negative bacteria. Comamonas species are aerobic organisms and motile using bipolar or polar tufts of one to five flagella. Comamonas testosteroni and Comamonas kerstersii have been found to cause infections in people.{{Cite journal |last1=Ryan |first1=Michael P. |last2=Sevjahova |first2=Ludmila |last3=Gorman |first3=Rachel |last4=White |first4=Sandra |date=September 2022 |title=The Emergence of the Genus Comamonas as Important Opportunistic Pathogens |journal=Pathogens |language=en |volume=11 |issue=9 |pages=1032 |doi=10.3390/pathogens11091032 |pmid=36145464 |pmc=9504711 |issn=2076-0817|doi-access=free }}
