Commercial Processing Workload
{{Short description|Type of benchmarking standard}}
The Commercial Processing Workload (CPW) is a simplified variant of the industry-wide TPC-C benchmarking standard originally developed by IBM to compare the performance of their various AS/400 (now IBM i) server offerings.{{cite book|url=https://books.google.com/books?id=ypJmzqt7JdUC&pg=PA148|title=Fortress Rochester: the inside story of the IBM iSeries|author=Frank G. Soltis|pages=147–148|year=2001|publisher=29th Street Press|isbn=1-58304-083-8}}
The related, but less commonly used Computational Intensive Workload (CIW) measures performance in a situation where there is a high ratio of computation to input/output communication. The reverse situation is simulated by the CPW.{{citation|title=End to End Performance Management on IBM i|url=http://www.redbooks.ibm.com/redbooks/pdfs/sg247808.pdf|date=November 2009|publisher=IBM}}
