Copiphora is a genus of bush crickets or katydids in the subfamily Copiphorinae (coneheads) from southern Mexico, Central America and South America, with a single doubtful species, C. subulata, from Africa.{{cite web|url=http://orthoptera.speciesfile.org/Common/basic/Taxa.aspx?TaxonNameID=1133855|title=species Copiphora subulata (Stoll, 1813)|work=OSF Online|accessdate=15 June 2021}}{{cite journal| last=Heller | first=K.-G. | last2=Hemp | first2=C. | last3=Liu | first3=C. | last4=Volleth | first4=M. | year=2014 | title=Taxonomic, bioacoustic and faunistic data on a collection of Tettigonioidea from Eastern Congo (Insecta: Orthoptera) | journal=Zootaxa | volume=3785 | issue=3 | pages=343–376 | doi=10.11646/zootaxa.3785.3.2 }}
Copiphora are typically fairly large nocturnal katydids with a conspicuous horn-like structure on the top of their head (indistinct in a few species). Copiphora are omnivorous, but with strong predatory tendencies with large individuals even able to catch small frogs and lizards.{{cite journal| last=Escalante | first=R.N. | last2=Pérez A. | first2=I. | last3=Alvarado A. | first3=A. | last4=Garro A. | first4=D. | last5=Rigabert D. | first5=P. | year=2021 | title=Observations of Arthropods Preying on Amphibians and Reptiles in Sierpe de Osa, Costa Rica | journal=Reptiles & Amphibians | volume=28 | issue=2 | pages=302–305 }}{{cite book| last=Hanson | first=P.E. | last2=Nishida | first2=K. | year=2016 | title=Insects and other arthropods of Tropical America | pages=29, 31 | publisher=Comstock Publishing Associates | isbn=978-0801456947 }} They can be quite noisy during the night and certain species produce some of the dominant sounds in their habitat.{{cite journal| last=Montealegre-Z. | first=F. | last2=Postles | first2=M. | year=2010 | title=Resonant sound production in Copiphora gorgonensis (Tettigoniidae: Copiphorini), an endemic species from Parque Nacional Natural Gorgona, Colombia | journal=Journal of Orthoptera Research | volume=19 | issue=2 | pages=347–355 }}
