The Corus Chess Tournament 2009 was the 71st edition of the Corus Chess Tournament, later known as the Tata Steel Chess Tournament.{{Cite web |date=2013-01-04 |title=Wijk aan Zee 2013: Tata Steel Chess Super-GM lineup |url=https://en.chessbase.com/post/wijk-aan-zee-2013-tata-steel-che-super-gm-lineup |access-date=2024-01-26 |website=Chess News |language=en}} It was held in Wijk aan Zee from 17 January to 1 February 2009.

Fabiano Caruana won the B section, having won the C section in 2008. Caruana was half a point behind Nigel Short, his final opponent, going into the last round.
