Corynebacterium jeikeium is a rod-shaped, catalase-positive, aerobic species of Actinomycetota in the genus Corynebacterium. C. jeikeium is pathogenic, typically causing an opportunistic infection seen most frequently in bone marrow transplant patients. C. jeikeium is a strictly aerobic organism and forms tiny grayish white colonies when grown on blood agar.{{cite book |last1=Funke |first1=Guido |last2=Bernard |first2=KA |date=May 16, 2011 |editor-last1=Versalovic |editor-first1=James | title=Manual of Clinical Microbiology|publisher=ASM Press |pages=430 |chapter=Chapter 26: Coryneform Gram-Positive Rods |isbn=978-1-55581-463-2}}

C. jeikeium is usually susceptible to vancomycin and tetracycline. Resistance to macrolide antibiotics is often encountered.{{cite journal |vauthors=Rosato AE, Lee BS, Nash KA |title=Inducible macrolide resistance in Corynebacterium jeikeium |journal=Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy |volume=45 |issue=7 |pages=1982–9 |date=July 2001 |pmid=11408212 |pmc=90589 |doi=10.1128/AAC.45.7.1982-1989.2001 |url=}}

It can be acquired in hospitals. Its genome has been sequenced.{{cite journal |vauthors=Tauch A, Kaiser O, Hain T |title=Complete genome sequence and analysis of the multiresistant nosocomial pathogen Corynebacterium jeikeium K411, a lipid-requiring bacterium of the human skin flora |journal=Journal of Bacteriology |volume=187 |issue=13 |pages=4671–82 |date=July 2005 |pmid=15968079 |pmc=1151758 |doi=10.1128/JB.187.13.4671-4682.2005 |url=|display-authors=etal}}
