Crossfire is a Canadian current affairs television program which aired on CBC Television in April 1956, and which featured debate and panel show formats.
Premise
This program was a mid-season replacement for Citizens' Forum during April 1956. In some episodes of Crossfire, a studio audience posed questions to several experts on a particular topic. Other episodes featured a debate for or against a given subject, resembling a court cross-examination, with a studio audience deciding the winning side of the argument.{{cite news | url=https://news.google.com/newspapers?id=LI0jAAAAIBAJ&pg=6955%2C288236 | title=TViewing | first=Bernard | last=Dube | newspaper=The Gazette | location=Montreal | date=3 April 1956 | page=13 | accessdate=6 January 2015 }}{{cite web | url=http://www.broadcasting-history.ca/programming/television/programming_popup.php?id=712 | first=John | last=Corcelli | date=February 2005 | title=Crossfire | publisher=Canadian Communications Foundation | accessdate=7 May 2010 }}
