Born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, Fried was a left-handed pitcher known for his short-lived but notable stint in the majors. Despite a challenging performance—allowing three earned runs and ending his career with an ERA of 16.20—Fried's brief time in the league places him among the many players who achieved the dream of playing at baseball's highest level.
