The Da'an River ({{zh|t=大安溪|p=Dà'ān Xī}}) is a river in northwestern Taiwan. It is the seventh-longest river on the island, it flows through Miaoli County and Taichung City for {{convert|105|km|mi}}. It reaches the Taiwan Strait between the Dajia District and Da'an District, Taichung.{{cite web |url=http://geonames.nga.mil/namesviewer/ |title=GeoNames Search |work=Geographic Names Database |publisher=National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, USA |accessdate=10 June 2016}}{{cite web |url=http://www.wra.gov.tw/ct.asp?xItem=20073&CtNode=4354 |title=Da'an River |language=Chinese |publisher=Water Resources Agency, Ministry of Economic Affairs |accessdate=10 June 2016 |url-status=dead |archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20151029173722/http://www.wra.gov.tw/ct.asp?xItem=20073&CtNode=4354 |archivedate=29 October 2015 }}
The Da'an River was affected by the 1999 Jiji earthquake, where a gorge was formed (called Da'an River Grand Canyon {{zh|c=大安溪大峽谷}}). In some of the fastest erosion geologists have ever seen, the gorge is being eaten away from its upstream end at a rate of 17 meters per year. They expect the gorge to be erased after 50 years.{{cite news |url=https://www.bbc.com/news/science-environment-28810357 |title=Taiwan's 'vanishing canyon' has 50 years left |author=Jonathan Webb |newspaper=BBC News |date=18 August 2014 |accessdate=10 June 2016}}{{cite journal|last1=Cook|first1=Kristen L.|last2=Turowski|first2=Jens M.|last3=Hovius|first3=Niels |year=2014 |title=River gorge eradication by downstream sweep erosion|journal=Nature Geoscience |volume=7 |issue=9 |pages=682–686 |doi=10.1038/ngeo2224}}
