The Dachstein Formation or Dachstein Limestone (German: Dachsteinkalk) is a geologic formation in the Alps and other Tethyan mountain ranges in Austria, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Switzerland, Slovakia and Slovenia. It preserves fossils dated to the Norian and Rhaetian stages of the Late Triassic period.[https://paleobiodb.org/classic/displayStrata?geological_group=&formation=Dachsteinkalk&group_formation_member=Dachsteinkalk Dachsteinkalk] at Fossilworks.org[https://paleobiodb.org/classic/displayStrata?geological_group=&formation=Dachstein%20limestones&group_formation_member=Dachstein%20limestones Dachstein limestones] at Fossilworks.org
