It is part of the municipal unit Siatista of the municipality of Voio. Vaipes was populated by Greek speaking Muslim Vallahades.{{cite book|last=Vakalopoulos|first=Apostolos E.|title=History of Macedonia, 1354–1833|year=1973|publisher=Institute for Balkan Studies|url=https://books.google.com/books?id=yOcJAQAAIAAJ&q=Pylor%C3%AD|isbn=9780900834899|page=347}} The 1920 Greek census recorded 64 people in the village. Following the Greek–Turkish population exchange, Greek refugee families in Vaipes were from Pontus (23) in 1926. The 1928 Greek census recorded 138 village inhabitants.
