According to Eurovision rules, all nations with the exceptions of the host country and the "Big Five" (France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom) are required to qualify from one of two semi-finals in order to compete for the final; the top ten countries from each semi-final progress to the final. The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) split up the competing countries into six different pots based on voting patterns from previous contests, with countries with favourable voting histories put into the same pot. On 31 January 2023, an allocation draw was held, which placed each country into one of the two semi-finals, and determined which half of the show they would perform in. Malta was placed into the first semi-final, held on 9 May 2023, and performed second in the show.{{Cite web|last=Groot|first=Evert|url=https://eurovision.tv/story/eurovision-2023-allocation-draw-results|title=Eurovision 2023: Allocation Draw results |date=2023-01-31|access-date=2022-03-05|publisher=EBU}} The song failed to qualify for the final, finishing 15th.{{Cite web |date=2023-05-09 |title=Eurovision 2023: The First Semi-Final Qualifiers |url=https://eurovision.tv/story/eurovision-2023-first-semi-final-qualifiers |url-status=live |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20230509214911/https://eurovision.tv/story/eurovision-2023-first-semi-final-qualifiers |archive-date=9 May 2023 |access-date=2023-12-17 |publisher=European Broadcasting Union (EBU)}}
