Early life

Cardoso was born in Johannesburg. Club career

Cardoso made his professional debut for the Free State Stars on 11 August 2012 in a 2–0 holme win over the Bidvest Wits.{{cite web|url=http://www.kickoff.com/news/29809/bidvest-wits-lost-2-0-away-to-free-state-stars|title=Bidvest Wits lost 2–0 away to Free State Stars|last=www.realnet.co.uk|website=Kick Off|date=11 August 2012}} Cardoso was made vice-captain in 2014.
