Major General Darrell Peter Amison OBE is a former British Army officer.

Military career

Amison was commissioned into the Royal Army Educational Corps in 1990.{{London Gazette|issue=52280|supp=y|page=15109|date=24 September 1990}} He served as commanding officer of 4 Logistic Support Regiment RLC in which role he was deployed to Afghanistan in 2007.{{cite web|url=https://rusi.org/event/uks-transition-and-redeployment-southern-afghanistan-2014|title=The UK's Transition and Redeployment from Southern Afghanistan in 2014|publisher=Royal United Services Institute|accessdate=13 December 2019|archive-date=13 December 2019|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20191213095138/https://rusi.org/event/uks-transition-and-redeployment-southern-afghanistan-2014|url-status=dead}} He went on to be Deputy Chief of Staff at Headquarters, 3rd (United Kingdom) Division in 2010, Commander of 102nd Logistic Brigade in July 2013{{cite web|url=http://www.gulabin.com/armynavy/pdf/Army%20Commands%201860-.pdf|title=Army Commands|accessdate=12 December 2019}} and Head of Concepts at the Development, Concepts and Doctrine Centre in September 2015 before becoming Capability Director, Combat Service Support in January 2019.{{cite web|url=http://www.gulabin.com/armynavy/pdf/Generals-Current.pdf|title=Current generals|accessdate=12 December 2019}} Amison became Director of the Development, Concepts and Doctrine Centre in April 2020,{{London Gazette |issue= 62985 |date= 28 April 2020 |page= 8110 |supp= y}} and retired from the army on 2 November 2022.{{London Gazette|issue=63867|date=8 November 2022|page=21258|supp=y}}
