Songs
The album has a blend of progressive rock with jazz driven rhythms, with the keyboard work being similar to English progressive rock band Emerson, Lake, and Palmer. The extended works on the first side like L'evoluzione and La conquista della posizione eretta being the most complex of the songs. {{cite web|url=https://www.allmusic.com/album/darwin%21-mw0000476053|title=Allmusic review}} 750000 anni fa...l'amore? Has a more operatic and classical atmosphere, with much of the song being just the piano and Giacomo's vocals.
