Operations
Datang's business areas include high-capacity digital switching, optical networking, data communication, and digital microwave communication equipment and software and system integration services. However, revenue from these sectors is far outweighed by the company's spending on TD-SCDMA research and product development, and in recent years the company has taken out a series of heavy loans from state-owned Chinese banks to fund this development.[http://www.chinatechnews.com/2007/07/20/5660-datang-telecom-receives-another-rmb20-billion-line-of-credit "Datang Telecom Receives Another CNY20 Billion Line Of Credit"] {{Webarchive|url=https://web.archive.org/web/20070930064308/http://www.chinatechnews.com/2007/07/20/5660-datang-telecom-receives-another-rmb20-billion-line-of-credit/ |date=2007-09-30 }}, 20 July 2007 (China Tech News){{cite web|url=http://www.gov.cn/ztzl/2007-06/22/content_658134.htm|script-title=zh:国家开发银行与大唐电信科技产业集团签合作协议|date=22 June 2007|access-date=7 March 2017|publisher=SASAC of the State Council|language=Chinese|archive-date=8 March 2017|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20170308045338/http://www.gov.cn/ztzl/2007-06/22/content_658134.htm|url-status=live}}
