Dave Hope (born October 7, 1949) is an American bass guitarist who played with the American progressive rock band Kansas from 1970 (original version) until the band's first split in 1983. When he was in high school, he played the tuba and trumpet in his high school band.{{cite web | url = https://www.vintageguitar.com/31875/dave-hope/ | title = Dave Hope Memorable Music Sojourn | date = 20 March 2019 | accessdate = 2024-05-13}} While he was in Kansas, he was known for his heavy drug use which spurred him to leave the band.{{cite web | url = https://www.loudersound.com/features/kansas-an-everyday-story-of-success-failure-drugs-booze-and-jealousy | title = Kansas: An Everyday Story Of Success, Failure, Drugs, Booze, and Jealousy | date = 3 July 2020 | accessdate = 2024-05-13}}
