David Hartford (1873–1932) was an American actor and film director best known for directing the movie Back to God's Country (1919).Judith A. Eldridge. James Oliver Curwood: God's Country and the Man 1993 -0879726040, p. 133. "Waiting fearfully for the outcome were Nell's husband, Ernie, and the film's director, David Hartford. When star and author emerged from their conference practically arm in arm, everyone breathed a sigh of relief."
