David Maddison

Maddison studied at Durham University (Grey College).{{cite web |title=Grey College : Well-known Grey Alumni |url=https://www.dur.ac.uk/grey.college/alumni/wellknown/ |website=Durham University |accessdate=6 September 2019}} He was called to the bar at Inner Temple in 1970 and elected as a Bencher in 2005. He was appointed an Assistant Recorder in 1986, a Recorder in 1990, and a Circuit Judge in 1992. He served as a Member of the Parole Board from 1996 to 2002. During his time on the High Court, he served as Judicial Member to the Crown Court Rule Committee in 2009 and Director of Criminal Training for the Judicial Studies Board in 2010. On 22 May 2013, Maddison retired from the bench.R v Evans [2016] EWCA Crim 452 Maddison died on 29 June 2019 following an illness.
