David Mansouri (born 21 October 1982) is a male former field hockey player from Scotland.

Biography

Mansouri earned his first cap for the Scotland men's national field hockey team in 2004.[https://web.archive.org/web/20060831134459/http://www.sportscotland.org.uk/Commonwealth+Games+2006/TopicNavigation/Athletes/Hockey.htm] sportscotland

He played club hockey for Western Wildcats and came through the club's youth system in the late nineties and originally claimed his place in the first team as a fullback. His dedication led to his first 19 caps in 2004.{{cite web|url=https://www.westernwildcats.co.uk/pages/page_18368/Internationalists-51-60.aspx |title=55. D. Mansouri |website=Western Wildcats |access-date=24 May 2025}}

He was part of the Scotland Commonwealth Games team at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne.{{cite web|url=http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/commonwealth_games/4662668.stm |title=Scotland Commonwealth Games squad |website=BBC Sport |date=7 February 2006 |access-date=24 May 2025}}

As he matured, he became a combative and highly efficient midfield player, bringing a different dimension to today's 1st team. Given his professional life as a surgeon, it is to his credit that his commitment to hockey has remained so steadfast, to the point that he was able to assume the captaincy in 2009–10. Now very much a senior player, Mansouri's role in the current 1st team remains an absolutely vital one. Mansouri retired from 1st team hockey in 2014.{{Cite web|url=http://www.westernwildcats.co.uk/pages/page_18368/Internationalists-51--.aspx|title = Internationalists 51-60}}
