David Reeder

David A Reeder (5 May 1931 – 1 August 2005) was an English historian at the University of Leicester.{{Cite web|title = Obituary: David Reeder|url = https://www.theguardian.com/news/2005/aug/16/guardianobituaries.obituaries|website = The Guardian|accessdate = 2015-10-13|first = Richard|last = Rodger}} He pursued a career in urban history and the history of education, co-founding the Urban History Group and editing the Urban History Yearbook for nine years.
Early life
Reeder was born in Kingston upon Hull, the son of a railway fireman, and evacuated to Rawcliffe and then York during World War II.{{Cite journal|url=https://www.jstor.org/stable/44613548|title=David A. After graduating from Nunthorpe Grammar School, Reeder won a scholarship at the University of Durham, where he served as Editor of Palatinate.{{Cite web|title = Palatinate Online » Past Editors|url = http://www.palatinate.org.uk/?page_id=62497|website = Palatinate|accessdate = 2015-10-13}} He was a member of Hatfield College, where he was Captain of Table Tennis in 1950.{{cite book |last1=Moyes |first1=Arthur |title=Hatfield 1846-1996 |date=1996 |page=222 }} Reeder took his PhD at the University of Leicester.
