Reception

Andrea Lipinski, writing for School Library Journal recommended Dear Myself for grades 10 and up, describing it as "a thought-provoking story for mature readers".{{Cite web |url=http://www.schoollibraryjournal.com/article/CA6387327.html |title=Graphic Novels |work=School Library Journal |publisher=Media Source, Inc. |date=November 1, 2006 |accessdate=14 January 2012 |archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20120229040308/http://www.schoollibraryjournal.com/article/CA6387327.html |archivedate=29 February 2012 |url-status=unfit }} Danielle Van Gorder, writing about World's End for Mania Entertainment, noted that Eiki Eiki's artistic strength was in her drawings of eyes, but felt that the shifting personalities of the protagonists did not come off as being natural, and that their relationship shifted from being healthy to being "codependent".{{Cite news |last=Van Gorder |first=Danielle |url=http://www.mania.com/worlds-end-vol-01_article_83669.html |title=World's End Vol. #01 |work=Mania |publisher=Demand Media |date=19 March 2008 |accessdate=14 January 2012 |archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20120229040308/http://www.schoollibraryjournal.com/article/CA6387327.html |archivedate=29 February 2012 |url-status=dead }} Holly Ellingwood, writing for Active Anime, enjoyed the "layered character development" of World's End compared to other yaoi manga.{{Cite web |last=Ellingwood |first=Holly |url=http://activeanime.com/html/2007/11/30/world%E2%80%99s-end/ |title=World's End |work=Active Anime |date=30 November 2007 |accessdate=14 January 2012 }} Jason Thompson, writing for the appendix to Manga: The Complete Guide, felt that World's End "reaches new depths in Eiki Eiki's glorification of pathological behavior".{{Cite web |last=Thompson |first=Jason |url=http://www.unboundworlds.com/2009/11/365-days-of-manga-day-74-worlds-end/ |title=365 Days of Manga, Day 74: World's End |work=Unbound Worlds |publisher=Penguin Random House |date=29 November 2009 }}
