Delaney Marie Rowe is an American social media personality, actress, and comedian. She is known for her cringe comedy videos on TikTok in which she parodies character tropes in media, such as the "absolutely insufferable female lead of an indie movie."
Life and career
Rowe was raised in Boise, Idaho. Inspired by the 2004 film Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen to pursue acting, she regularly performed in the Idaho Shakespeare Festival growing up. She moved from Idaho to Los Angeles to attend the University of Southern California School of Dramatic Arts, where she earned a BFA in acting in 2017.{{cite web |last1=Bosselman |first1=Haley |title=Delaney Rowe On TikTok, Manic Pixie Dream Boys And Her Favorite L.A. She then started working as a personal chef after making flyers, on which she lied about attending culinary school, and putting them in mailboxes around Beverly Hills. Rowe appeared in the 2020 short film The Wine as Cara.
Starting in 2020, Rowe started posting comedy sketches—which she writes, performs in, and edits—on TikTok.{{cite web |last1=Stanley |first1=Grace |title=Comedian Delaney Rowe breaks down her TikTok success |url=https://www.dailydot.com/unclick/comedian-delaney-rowe-tiktok/ |website=The Daily Dot |access-date=November 19, 2023 |date=November 15, 2022}} Her first video on the platform to go viral was a comedy sketch in which she gave a monologue about rain from the perspective of the "absolutely insufferable female lead of an indie movie".{{cite web |last1=Baker |first1=Jessica |title=Delaney Rowe Is Ready to Take Her Comedy Chops Mainstream |url=https://www.whowhatwear.com/delaney-rowe/slide3 |website=Who What Wear |access-date=November 19, 2023 |date=September 22, 2023}} She continued to play this character in later videos that also went viral on the platform.{{cite web |last1=Hassan |first1=Beril Naz |title=TikTok star Delaney Rowe goes viral for 'insufferable female lead' skits |url=https://www.standard.co.uk/showbiz/tiktok-star-delaney-rowe-viral-insufferable-female-lead-skits-b1076301.html |website=Evening Standard |access-date=November 19, 2023 |date=April 24, 2023}}{{cite web |last1=Carr |first1=Mary Kate |title=It's not Claire's fault that The Bear fans hate her |url=https://www.avclub.com/the-bear-fans-hate-claire-defense-1850686765 |website=The A.V.
