Denel Land Systems is a division of the Denel group.

It was formerly Lyttelton Engineering Works (LIW—from {{langx|af|Lyttelton Ingenieurswerke}}), a subsidiary part of the commercial network from Armscor. It then became the Systems division of the Land Systems Group of Denel.{{cite web|url=http://www.photius.com/countries/south_africa/national_security/south_africa_national_security_growth_of_the_defens~2506.html |title=South Africa Growth of the Defense Industry |publisher=Photius.com |date=May 1996 |access-date=2015-04-08}}
