Denis Joseph Cummings {{post-nominals|country=NZL|CBE|size=85%}} (16 May 1885 – 31 March 1956) was a New Zealand policeman and police commissioner. He was born in Tuapeka Flat, South Otago, New Zealand, on 16 May 1885.{{DNZB|title=Denis Joseph Cummings|first= Graeme|last= Dunstall|id=4c45|accessdate=23 April 2017}} He was the brother of James Cummings.

In the 1946 New Year Honours, Cummings was appointed a Commander of the Order of the British Empire.{{London Gazette |date=1 January 1946 |supp=4 |issue=37410 |page=159}}
