The Church of England parish church of St Margaret has 13th-century origins but was mostly rebuilt 1827–8.{{Cite book |last1=Pevsner |first1=Nikolaus |author1-link=Nikolaus Pevsner |last2=Cherry |first2=Bridget (revision) |year=1973 |title=Northamptonshire |edition=revised |orig-year=First published 1961 |location=New Haven |publisher=Yale University Press |series=The Buildings of England |pages=183–4 |isbn=978-0-300-09632-3}}
The interior of the church is decorated with biblical murals by the Northampton artist, Henry Bird. Plans were made for the works in 1960 and they were painted from February 1975 until the summer of 1976. They are on 16 panels with 31 life-size figures, many based on local people.{{cite news |last=Mayes |first=Ian |title=Henry Bird |newspaper=The Guardian |url=https://www.theguardian.com/news/2000/may/11/guardianobituaries.ianmayes |date=11 May 2000 |access-date=1 January 2011}}[https://www.flickr.com/photos/jennyannethorpe/sets/72157623977633047/with/4624310843/ Denton: a set of photographs by Jenny Thorpe with text]{{clear left}}
