Born in Edgware, Payne played for Kingsbury Town, Burnham, Hayes, Barnet, Cheltenham Town, Fisher Athletic, Southend United, Watford, Peterborough United, Dagenham & Redbridge, Harrow Borough, St Albans City, Egham Town and Flackwell Heath.{{ENFA}}
