Desert Pursuit is a 1952 American Western film directed by George Blair and starring Wayne Morris, Virginia Grey and George Tobias.{{cite book |last1=Martin |first1=Len D. |title=The Allied Artists Checklist: The Feature Films and Short Subjects of Allied Artists Pictures Corporation, 1947-1978 |date=1993 |publisher=McFarland & Company |page=171}} The film is based on the story "Horse Thieves' Hosanna" by Kenneth Perkins,{{cite news |last1=Schallert |first1=Edwin |title='What Price Glory' Set for Ford; Virginia Grey Does Blackjack Dealer |work=Los Angeles Times |date=October 26, 1951}} originally published in the December 1948 issue of Blue Book. IMDb and other sources credit the screenplay to a novel called "Starlight Canyon."{{cite book |last1=Fagan |first1=Herb |title=The Encyclopedia of Westerns |date=2003 |publisher=Facts on File, Inc. |page=128}} However, Perkins never published a novel under that title. Among his papers at the Bancroft Library is a typescript story titled "Starlight Canyon" with a handwritten note identifying the title under which it was published.
