The Design 1014 ship (full name Emergency Fleet Corporation Design 1014) was a steel-hulled cargo ship design approved for production by the United States Shipping Board{{'}}s Emergency Fleet Corporation (EFT) in World War I.{{sfn|McKellar|p=Part I, 479b-480}} They were referred to as the "Cascade"-type.{{sfn|McKellar|p=Part I, 479b-480}} They were all built by Todd Drydock and Construction Company, at their Tacoma, Washington shipyard.{{sfn|McKellar|p=Part I, 479b-480}}{{cite web|url=http://shipbuildinghistory.com/shipyards/large/toddtacoma.htm|title=Todd Pacific Shipyards, Tacoma WA (formerly Todd Dry Dock & Construction Company [1917-1924], Seattle-Tacoma Shipbuilding [1942-1944])|date =October 24, 2020|publisher=shipbuildinghistory.com |access-date=9 February 2021}} 20 ships were completed for the USSB in 1919 and 1920; and additional 2 were completed in 1920 for private companies.{{sfn|McKellar|p=Part I, 479b-480}} 12 ships were cancelled.{{sfn|McKellar|p=Part I, 479b-480}}
