Dev Pragad (born 1984) is the British-American president and CEO of Newsweek. Early life and education

Career

In November 2024 an interview with Pragad, South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol discussed the interplay between foreign policy and domestic reform, describing them as “two sides of the same coin.” Conducted in Seoul and also involving Newsweek editors Nancy Cooper and Matthew Tostevin, the conversation explored pressing issues, including North Korea’s nuclear threat and Yoon’s efforts to address structural challenges in South Korea. Dev was invited as the Guest of Honour at the 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) Convention in Bhubaneswar, held from January 8-10, 2025. He received a personal invitation from India’s External Affairs Minister, S. Jaishankar, in recognition of his leadership in transforming Newsweek into a profitable, multi-platform media organization. His participation highlighted the role of the Indian diaspora in global media and innovation.
