Devang Desai is an American attorney who has served as the 13th national commissioner of Scouting America since 2025. Prior to his election, Desai held multiple volunteer roles within the organization. He is a partner at the law firm Freeman Mathis & Gary, LLP.
Education
Desai earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Miami, and currently serves as president of its alumni association. Career
In 2004, Desai joined the law firm Gaebe, Mullen, Antonelli & DiMatteo. In 2025, he was hired as a partner in the Miami office of Freeman Mathis & Gary, LLP, where he works as a civil trial attorney. Scouting
Desai achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in 1989. He is also a Vigil Honor member of the Order of the Arrow.
Desai has held various roles in Scouting at the unit, council, area, and regional levels. He served as a member of the South Florida Council Executive Board, National Alumni Relations Committee and the Southern Region board. Awards
Desai has received the Silver Beaver, Silver Antelope, and Silver Buffalo awards.
