A disc lock is a portable security device for motorcycles and scooters. Disc-locks use the holes in a motorcycle's or scooter's brake disc. A locking pin passes through the hole in the brake disc and locks to the other side of the lock, using either a pushdown-and-click locking mechanism or a more robust double-locking mechanism. When in place, the disc-lock discourages theft by blocking the vehicle from being moved in either forward or reverse direction.{{cite web |title=Motorcycle Security Guide - Best Ways to Prevent Motorbike Theft (2019) |url=https://www.locksmiths.co.uk/faq/motorcycle-security-guide/ |website=Master Locksmiths Association |access-date=8 October 2024}}{{cite web |title=Motorcycle security and anti-theft: Ways to save your bike - RevZilla |url=https://www.revzilla.com/common-tread/motorcycle-security-and-anti-theft-ways-to-save-your-bike |website=www.revzilla.com |access-date=8 October 2024 |language=en-us}}{{cite web |title=Protect your motorcycle, moped or scooter from theft |url=https://www.police.uk/cp/crime-prevention/keeping-vehicles-safe/theft-motorcycles-scooters/ |website=police.uk |access-date=8 October 2024}}
