The Dodeka Keyboard design is an isomorphic keyboard invented and designed by Jacques-Daniel Rochat. It is similar to a piano keyboard but with only a single row of keys containing each chromatic note.{{Cite news|url=http://www.factmag.com/2016/12/19/dodeka-keyboard-notation-kickstarter/|title=This electric piano claims to make it easy for everyone to learn keys|date=2016-12-19|work=FACT Magazine: Music News, New Music.|access-date=2018-10-19|language=en-US}}{{Cite journal|last1=Andres|first1=Perez-Lopez|last2=Kientz|first2=Bertrand|date=2015|title=BIGRAM EDITOR: A SCORE EDITOR FOR THE BIGRAM NOTATION.|url=http://tenor-conference.org/proceedings/2015/02-PerezLopez-Bigram.pdf|journal=TENOR}} The keys corresponding to C, E and A flat are highlighted to provide visual landmarks. The creators aimed to create a rational and chromatic approach to music and performance.{{Cite web|url=http://www.synthtopia.com/content/2016/12/17/new-keyboard-design-dodeka-promises-a-more-rational-approach-to-music-education-performance/|title=New Keyboard Design, DODEKA, Promises A More Rational Approach To Music Education & Performance|last=guest|date=2016-12-17|website=Synthtopia|language=en-US|access-date=2018-10-19}} As an isomorphic keyboard, any musical sequence or interval has the same shape in each of the 12 keys.
Music notation
The Dodeka design was developed together with the Dodeka Music Notation.{{Cite web|url=https://musically.com/2017/08/15/dodeka-rethinks-keyboard-music-notation/|title=Startup Dodeka rethinks the keyboard... and music notation|website=musically.com|date=15 August 2017 |access-date=2018-10-19}}{{Cite news|url=https://sonicstate.com/news/2016/12/13/dodeka-reinvents-writing-and-playing-music/|title=DODEKA Reinvents Writing And Playing Music|work=Sonicstate|access-date=2018-10-19}}{{Cite book|url=https://www.worldcat.org/oclc/1078658738|title=Dodeka : la révolution musicale|last=Rochat|first=Jacques-Daniel|date=2018|publisher=Crea 7|isbn=9782970127505|location=Chexbres|oclc=1078658738}} It consists of a four-line chromatic staff, and represents rhythms only using the visual length of a bar on the staff, reminiscent of the appearance of "piano roll" in digital audio workstations.
