Critical reception

Larry Flick from Billboard commented, "The track, which has been remixed by Mike "Hitman" Wilson, David Morales, and Todd Terry, is a slammin', R&B flavored houser that frames Christopher's fine voice with spiraling strings and a warm bass line. Guaranteed to pack dancefloors".{{cite magazine|first= Larry |last= Flick |title= Dance Trax: Sledge Is Back; Sims Simmers; Abdul Exudes Club Vibe |magazine= Billboard |date= 8 February 1992 |page= 23 |accessdate= 7 October 2020 |url= https://worldradiohistory.com/Archive-Billboard/90s/1992/Billboard-1992-02-08.pdf |author-link= Larry Flick}} He also added that "the beats pump hard, the hook is undeniable, and Christopher proves that she is far from a one-hit wonder."{{cite magazine|first= Larry |last= Flick |title= Single Reviews |magazine= Billboard |date= 22 February 1992 |page= 76 |accessdate= 24 October 2020 |url= https://worldradiohistory.com/Archive-Billboard/90s/1992/Billboard-1992-02-22.pdf |author-link= Larry Flick}} A reviewer from Music & Media wrote, "The '70s disco magic is revived."{{cite magazine|title= New Releases: Singles |magazine= Music & Media |date= 28 March 1992 |page= 24 |accessdate= 22 October 2020 |url= https://worldradiohistory.com/UK/Music-and-Media/90s/1992/MM-1992-03-28.pdf}}
