The House of Donà are an old patrician family of Venice which produced three doges of Venice. The family has existed since at least the late twelfth century.{{Sfn|Davis|1975|p=xiii}} Until the sixteenth century, the family were merchants.{{Cite journal |last=Brucker |first=Gene A. |date=April 1976 |title=Review: A Venetian Family and Its Fortune 1500–1900: The Donà and the Conservation of Their Wealth. |url=https://academic.oup.com/ahr/article-lookup/doi/10.1086/ahr/81.2.413-a |journal=The American Historical Review |language=en |volume=81 |issue=2 |pages=413 |doi=10.1086/ahr/81.2.413-a |issn=1937-5239}} During that period, they bought land, which supported the family through the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.{{Sfn|Davis|1975|p=37}} Around and throughout the nineteenth century, the family's wealth was significantly diminished due to the influences of the French Revolution and industrialisation.{{Sfn|Davis|1975|p=121}} The family is still surviving, and produced a number of business people in the twentieth century.{{Sfn|Davis|1975|p=171}}
