Doobarda is a rural south-eastern suburb and locality of Perth, Western Australia, located in the local government area of the City of Armadale, adjacent to the Tonkin Highway.{{cite web |url=https://maps.slip.wa.gov.au/landgate/locate/ |title=SLIP Map |author= |date= |website=maps.slip.wa.gov.au |publisher=Landgate |access-date=27 January 2024 |quote=}}{{cite web |url=https://nationalmap.gov.au/ |title=NationalMap |author= |date= |website=nationalmap.gov.au |publisher=Geoscience Australia |access-date=27 January 2024 |quote=}}

The suburb was created by splitting the south-eastern corner of the suburb of Forrestdale as a new, separate industrial area. Two proposed options for the suburb name existed, Salmeri, after Steve Salmeri, an organiser of the local progress association and sports club, and Doobarda, a Noongar name for the Banksia flower.{{cite web |url=https://engage.armadale.wa.gov.au/proposal-new-suburb-from-a-portion-of-the-forrestdale-locality |title=Proposal - New Suburb from a Portion of the Forrestdale Locality |author= |date= |website=engage.armadale.wa.gov.au |publisher=City of Armadale |access-date=27 January 2024 |quote=}} The name South Forrestdale was also proposed for the new suburb at one point but did not meet Landgate naming requirements and therefore could not be used.{{cite web |url=https://www.armadale.wa.gov.au/sites/default/files/assets/documents/councildocs/minutes_-_development_services_committee_-_20_february_2023.pdf |title=City of Armadale Minutes: Suburb Renaming – A Portion of Forrestdale |author= |date= |website=www.armadale.wa.gov.au |publisher=City of Armadale |access-date=27 January 2024 |quote=}}
