He played college football for the Boston College Eagles and was selected by the Denver Broncos in the second round of the 1989 NFL draft.{{Cite web |title=1989 NFL Draft Listing |url=https://www.pro-football-reference.com/years/1989/draft.htm |access-date=2023-05-26 |website=Pro-Football-Reference.com |language=en}} He was a part of the Broncos' Super Bowl XXIV losing team.
