Designed by prolific Nevada architect Frederic Joseph DeLongchamps, it serves today as both the Carson Valley Museum & Cultural Center and a middle school and is listed on the United States National Register of Historic Places.{{cite web |url=http://dmla.clan.lib.nv.us/DOCS/shpo/entries/douglas.htm |title=Nevada Entries in the National Register of Historic Places |accessdate=2007-03-23 |url-status=dead |archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20060923015413/http://dmla.clan.lib.nv.us/docs/shpo/entries/douglas.htm |archivedate=2006-09-23 }}
