The game is made in classic rubber hose animation and inspired by the golden age of American animation. It also features a jazz soundtrack, and has many references to various classic cartoons.
Gameplay
The gameplay of ACECRAFT is centered on continuous boss fights. Every level takes place in the sky, with the player being in a third person airplane moving vertically in the style of a shoot 'em up. The goal of every level is to defeat the various characters and bosses, which allows to unlock new maps, until the final fight with the Demon King.
Many users have noted that the gameplay is very similar to Cuphead, another shoot 'em up video game in rubber hose animation that isn't available on mobile.
Synopsis
In the realm of Cloudia, located 260,000 feet above the ground, various anthropomorphic creatures coexist in peace. The realm's peace is disrupted when the Tinkerer Legion launches an attack, causing chaos throughout the isles and driving many inhabitants to madness in a case of moral disengagement.
In response, a group known as the Ark of Hope, led by flight instructor Mister X. and composed of elite pilots trained to maintain world peace, undertakes a mission to restore peace by confronting the Tinkerer Legion’s forces. Ekko, the new recruit of Mr. X, accompanied by, Joey, Amelia, Charlie, Summer, and Ironarms, embark on a quest though every isle, starting by ending the conflict between Dream Island and Frosting Island, saving Charlie in Ghost Swamp, defeating the isle of Illumination Bay overrun by corruption and cupidity, and more.
Development
The game, originally known as ACE Wonder, released a first test release on July 17, 2024, which ended on August 9. It was later renamed to ACECRAFT, and received a limited release in the United States, and later in Canada on October 31.
Vizta Games are planning for a global launch of the game in 2025.
Reception
