Alton C. Morris (died 1979) was a researcher and professor whose work focused on folklife and folksongs in Florida. He wrote the book Folksongs of Florida.

He was from the Lake Okeechobee area

A Professor of English at the University of Florida, he founded Southern Folklore Quarterly and edited it for thirty years from 1936 to 1966. He was a co-author for several books.
