De Malleray was born into a Catholic family in Anjou, France, in 1971. After his master's degree in Modern Literature at the Sorbonne, he left France in 1994 to complete military service in Budapest, Hungary. In 1995, he entered the FSSP seminary in Wigratzbad, Germany. He was ordained a priest in 2001 by Archbishop Wolfgang Haas of Vaduz. De Malleray has served as both a pastor and retreat master. His first assignment was as assistant priest at St Bede's Parish in Clapham Park, in the Archdiocese of Southwark.

In 2008, he was assigned to establish a permanent base for the FSSP in Reading, Diocese of Portsmouth. De Malleray co-organised the first official Traditional Catholic delegation for WYD 2005, planned with Pope John Paul II as part of the “Year of the Eucharist” with Juventutem. He spoke in parishes at the International Eucharistic Congresses in Quebec City (2008), Dublin (2012), and Liverpool (2018) and has addressed Eucharistic ministers in the Diocese of Portsmouth on topics such as Eucharistic fragments and concomitance.

The Catholic Herald, a monthly magazine founded in London in 1888, covers topics related to the Roman Catholic Church. On March 4, 2024, it featured a statement from Father de Malleray discussing Pope Francis' reaffirmation of support for the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Peter (FSSP).
