Atelier Brückner is a globally active studio for museum and exhibition design based in Stuttgart.

History

Atelier Brückner was established following the exhibition Expedition Titanic, which was shown in Hamburg's Speicherstadt in 1997. It was founded by the architect and stage designer Uwe R. Brückner and the architect Shirin Frangoul-Brückner. Uwe Brückner left in 2020. Today, Shirin Frangoul-Brückner heads the studio together with Stefanie Klinge, Britta Nagel, Eberhard Schlag, René Walkenhorst, and Michel Casertano. With over 130 employees, it is one of the largest studios for exhibition design and scenography.

Guided by the philosophy "form follows content," Atelier Brückner conceives, plans, and realizes architecture, exhibitions, and scenography. The company focuses on projects for museums, trade fairs, and expos. It also designs visitor centers and brand environments, as well as the renovation and conversion of listed buildings. To meet the increasing complexity of architecture and exhibitions, the studio works in interdisciplinary teams. Architects, graphic designers, scientists, directors, product and media designers develop the concepts and oversee their implementation.

In 2016, Atelier Brückner took over the exhibition design of the Grand Egyptian Museum in Giza.[https://www.atelier-brueckner.com/en/projects/gem-grand-egyptian-museum] They developed the scenography of the Tutankhamun Gallery, featuring the tomb treasure of the child king, a children's museum, and the presentation of the sculptures in the atrium and on the museum's grand interior staircase, the Grand Stairs.

In 2018, Atelier Brückner Korea was founded in Seoul.
