Bird On The Buffalo is a 2012 song written by singer and songwriter Angus Stone. It was featured on his 2012 studio album release, Broken Brights, and served as its second single.
Composition and lyrics

Speaking of what inspired the creation of the track, Stone said that: 'The imagery of it I think(...) I caught from, I think I was watching the discovery channel or something, and I saw, I saw the little birds on the buffalo. And they had this relationship, it was kind of mutual and they could get together, and you know they didn't have to talk or, I don't know there's something about it was just cool.'

Bird on the Buffalo was generally well recieved by critics and audience alike. Journalist Luke Henriques-Gomes wrote that Bird
On The Buffalo was: 'one of the album’s finer moment', and
featured: 'a gorgeous vocal performance and a memorable off-beat melody. Henriques-Gomes further stated the track was:'simply one of Stone’s best songs, solo or otherwise'.
