千代金丸 "hiyoganemaru" is a Japanese sword (tachi) believed to have been made in the 16th century. It is designated as a Japanese national treasure and is in the collection of the Naha City Museum of History in Naha City, Okinawa Prefecture. According to the “Origin of Chiyokinmaru's Treasured Sword,” it was a treasured sword owned by the Hokuzan King Panzach, who was attacked and destroyed by Shō Hashi. He threw it into the Shigema River and ended his life. It is said that a resident of Iheya picked it up and presented it to King Chuzan.

In 1995 and 1996, Shoyu, the head of the Sho family, donated the family's cultural heritage to Naha City, Okinawa Prefecture, and in 2002, all three pieces were designated as important cultural properties as part of the “Ryukyu Royal Sho Family's Inherited Items”. Furthermore, in 2006 (Heisei 18), they were designated as National Treasures as “Materials Related to the Sho Family of the King of Ryukyu” with the addition of historical documents. As mentioned below, all three swords are Japanese swords made in Japan. As mentioned above, the designation as a National Treasure is based on the total value of all cultural properties handed down in the Sho family, and is not a stand-alone evaluation.
